TITLE: Virtual Step PIN Pad: Towards Foot-input Authentication Using Geophones
AUTHORS:Yan He, Qiuye He, Song Fang, Yao Liu
JOURNAL: Proceedings of the 18th IEEE International Conference on Mobile Ad-Hoc and Smart Systems (MASS)
YEAR: 2020
TYPE: Conference Paper
ABSTRACT: We present Virtual Step PIN Pad, a novel PIN entry scheme that allows users to enter PINs through foot tapping on the ground. The system utilizes geophones to collect structural vibration signals and demodulates them into PINs. Experimental results show 96.5% success rate for 4-digit PIN input, with adversary success rate below 3% at distances >2.5m.
